What is Directory Sizer?

Directory Sizer lets you

• See where your disk is being used, and
• See where this usage has changed over time.

This means you can

• Troubleshoot disk usage problems, and
• Plan for the future.

For example, the D: drive on BIGSERVER is filling up and you don't know why - your server is full of directories. Directory Sizer will let you drill down from server to disk to directory to sub-directory tracking where disk usage has changed. You see where it is - a user put a ton of scanned, uncompressed holiday snaps on their home drive in a folder called Work! You found this out in a minute, even though your server handles a million files. The reason you know this so quickly is that Directory Sizer has been running every night for a while now, recording this sort of information in a database.
